Privacy Self-Hosted

So I just got through a pretty hectic week haha. Had to migrate the server for my blog and Forgejo, and also move away from Minio since it went publicly archived. Kinda frustrating but honestly saw it coming, they were already cutting features in the community edition and it just ended with them killing the open source version entirely. So yeah, had to find another option and landed on SeaweedFS.

Also been adding some stuff to check off my self-hosting wishlist. Installed Immich but only using it as a viewer since Nextcloud already covers that side of things, and also set up Dawarich. That one’s been a fun surprise for me haha, never really planned on installing it but now I can’t stop using it.

Then since Session apparently is going to shut down in the next few months, I jumped over to SimpleX. And naturally I’m already thinking about self-hosting the server too, SMP and XFTP both. Anyway, here’s my server! Also finally got Diun back up so I can keep an eye on updates more easily since there’s quite a lot of things to maintain now. (No way I’m gonna be that person who never updates anything and gets hacked lol). And to wrap it all up, threw in Glance for the dashboard!

On another note, I also swapped out my PGP key. Updated the master key so it stays offline now, and I’m just running 3 subkeys each handling their own thing. Since I had signed a bunch of stuff before, I went ahead and did a cross-sign too. And all of this happened while I was literally in the middle of studying Planck’s equation. Somehow one thing led to another and I just completely lost track of what I was doing. Haha. Oh well, what can you do.

Oh, Allium Uptime also got some updates this week, a few UI changes and some bug fixes on that side too. Crazy to think it’s almost been 5 months already, didn’t even notice.
